Effective Use of Water Resources
Effective Use of Water Resources

Of all the water on Earth, only 2.5% is freshwater, making the efficient use of water resources essential. The Penta-Ocean Construction Group is engaged in initiatives that contribute to the effective use of water resources, such as rainwater storage and utilization, maintenance of water and sewage systems, and reinforcement of reservoir embankments.
The rainwater storage tank installed on the roof of the headquarters annex building helps reduce municipal water consumption.
Effective Use of Rainwater
The annex of our headquarters building is equipped with a rainwater storage tank on the premises to effectively utilize rainwater, which is used for sprinkling on roofs, outdoor unit of air conditioners, and paved surfaces. In addition, the building is also designed to reduce CO2 emissions through the use of various energy-saving technologies.
Contributing to the Construction of Water Supply and Sewage Facilities
We contribute to the construction of water supply and wastewater treatment facilities that form the foundation of daily life and play a vital role in improving public health and enhancing the quality of public water environments.
We have also developed sulfuric acid-resistant concrete which features a 100-year lifespan. Resistant to the hydrogen sulfide gas generated in sewer tunnels, it is being used in sewer tunnel construction.

Reinforcement of Reservoir Embankments Using the Water-Absorbing Mud Stabilization Material "Watoru"
To prevent the collapse of reservoirs due to heavy rain or typhoons and to enable their continued use as agricultural water facilities, we are developing reinforcement technology for reservoirs using the water-absorbing mud stabilization material "Watoru *".
* A hydration-treated product developed by JAIWAT Co., Ltd. (a wholly owned consolidated subsidiary). made by mixing a special chemical with incinerated paper ash (PS ash) from paper manufacturing sludge generated by papermaking companies.

Business Activities in Water-Stressed Areas
At Penta-Ocean Construction Group, we identify and appropriately manage water-related risks across all our offices and construction sites in the regions where we operate.
To assess water risks, we utilize the World Resources Institute (WRI) "Aqueduct Water Risk Atlas."
Domestic Business Activities
According to the WRI Aqueduct Water Risk Atlas, none of our domestic offices or construction sites are in water-stressed areas (classified as High or Extremely High) for FY 3/25.
Overseas Business Activities
Out of the 48 overseas offices and construction sites in our international operations during FY 3/25, the locations listed below were classified as water-stressed areas under the WRI Aqueduct Water Risk Atlas. While there were 10 offices and construction sites located in regions classified as "High," we are implementing appropriate water management practices in accordance with the legal regulations of each country.
