POC named on the highest “A List” of CDP's 2024 Climate Change Category

Tokyo, Japan - February 12, 2025 - Penta-Ocean Construction (hereinafter POC) has been selected by CDP*, a global environmental non-profit organization, as a highest-rated “A-List” company in the climate change category.

As a genuine global general contractor who practices sustainable management, POC group strives to make a vital contribution to sustainable social development through sustainable construction business activities.

On the environmental front, we place a strong focus on global climate change issues as one of our most important management issues. In this context, we undertake numerous initiatives to reduce CO2 emissions in our construction business activities both at home and abroad, towards the achievement of targets certified in December 2022 by the SBT as aligned with a 1.5 degrees Celsius trajectory. As for emissions from construction sites categorized as Scopes 1 and 2, we implement several initiatives to reduce CO2 emissions, including use of fuel efficiency improvement additives and biofuels for powering work vessels and construction machinery and promotion of renewable energy use through ZEB (Zero Energy Building) conversion of site offices, etc. For Scope 3 emissions, which are indirect emissions produced along our supply chain, we contribute to reduction of CO2 emissions by expanding the use of low-carbon concrete etc. in our building construction projects and by reducing operational CO2 emissions associated with building use through construction of Net Zero Energy Buildings (ZEBs).

Going forward, not only do we strive to reduce CO2 emissions in our construction business activities, but we will also endeavor to achieve carbon neutrality through construction of offshore wind facilities and ZEB.
