CP-8001, Multipurpose Self-Elevating Platform, performs offshore wind power facilities related works
Penta-Ocean Construction Co., Ltd. will utilize the company-owned CP-8001, multipurpose self-elevating platform equipped with a large crane, for removal of bottom-fixed foundation type wind turbine and observation tower off the coast of Kitakyushu.
In 2011, we had constructed a bottom-fixed foundation type 2MW offshore wind turbine and wind observation tower, as part of a joint research project of J-Power/NEDO*1 off the coast of Wakamatsu-ku, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture. The construction was completed in 2013, wherein the offshore wind power research facility started operating. We will perform the removal work of the above equipment in October 2019.
Completed in December 2018, CP-8001 is the first Japanese multipurpose SEP equipped with a large fully-revolving crane, having a lifting capacity of 800tons. By lifting the hull above the seawater surface, the vessel allows safe operation efficiently and accurately, even in sea areas with severe weather and marine conditions.
We will endeavor to capitalize on the extensive expertise accumulated from this removal work for future offshore wind power generation farm projects.
