CASSIOPEIA V
CASSIOPEIA V
~One of the most modern Self-propelled Cutter Suction Dredger, CASSIOPEIA V~
The Cassiopeia V marks the first large cutter suction dredger constructed in 36 years, representing a new generation of the flagship that fuses the traditional know-how long held by Penta-Ocean Construction with the latest European technology. A cutter suction dredger is a stationary or a self-propelled vessel that uses a rotating cutter head to loosen the material in the sea bed. The cutter suction dredger discharges the dredged material by dredge pump directly to shore via a floating pipeline at considerable distance from the work site or into a split hopper barge moored alongside.
Features
Outstanding Dredging Capabilities
Equipped with a large-capacity dredging pump that is roughly 1.4 times larger in size compared to the largest cutter suction dredger in Japan (DE8000PS), making it possible to transport large amounts of dredged material at considerable distance. And the large-scale cutter ladder and the strong cutter drive unit help it excel for hard soil.
Ability to work even in severe sea conditions
The large spud and spud tensioning system make it possible to perform a dredging work even in severe sea conditions.
Auto dredging mode for high levels of construction accuracy
The automatic operation of dredging apparatus such as the swing winch and ladder winch makes it possible to achieve greater construction accuracy.
Self propulsion system for greater mobility
This self-propelled cutter suction dredger comes equipped with the azimuth thruster and the spud tilting system for greater mobility, expanding its navigation area to the open sea to allow for a greater potential for working worldwide.
