Non-Contact Barge Loading Measurement System
Non-Contact Barge Loading Measurement System
This system measures the volume of soil on the barge by digital photographs taken from two cameras fixed at positions above the hold of the vessel. Since photographic data is digitally stored, the volume can repeatedly calculate as necessary, and the profile of loading changes due to additional or ,decrease of soil.
Time saving for measurement of loading volume
Manual measurement normally takes 45 to 75 minutes, depending on the profile of the load, or size of the hold on the barge. Using the non-contact barge loading measurement system, the barge needs to be held in place for no more than five minutes while digital photographs are taken, leading to significant time saving.
Improvement of health and safety
Outdoor measurement is eliminated, reducing risk to individuals conducting the measurements and saving time.
Improvement of accuracy of measurement
The accuracy of this system is comparable to Conventional human Measurement. In addition, stable measurements cannot be affected by weather and proficiency of the measure.
