Artificial Upwelling Fishing Grounds
Artificial Upwelling Fishing Grounds
When constructing artificial upwelling fishing grounds, it has been difficult to discharge rubble or concrete blocks accurately to targeted positions, because of strong wave action. To overcome this problem, Penta-Ocean developed an integrated construction control system consisting of a current direction and speed evaluation system, an analysing system for determining discharging positions, a verge navigation system, and an evaluation system for accumulation shape. The comprehensive system has provided a more cost-effective and reliable method for building artificial upwelling fishing grounds in coastal areas.
Integrated use of various systems
Since the respective systems provide investigation, analysis, execution, verification and feedback at every discharge, the reliability of construction operation is increased.
Increasing of accuracy of construction
The highly accurate analysis and prediction capabilities of this system make it possible to carry out discharge operations using sailing discharge barges at very slow speeds. Accuracy of construction is increased because the operations are not susceptible to wave action.
