50 years in Singapore

Penta-Ocean Construction Co., Ltd. (President: Takuzo Shimizu) held a commemorative ceremony at the Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore on November 27th, to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the company’s entry into Singapore. Attending the ceremony as the main guest was Mr. Lee Yi Shyan, Senior Minister of State Ministry of Trade and Industry, and Ministry National Development. The Ambassador of Japan to Singapore, Mr. Haruhisa Takeuchi, was also in attendance in addition to the local clients, customers and suppliers totaling approximately 400 people.


The Company has been engaged in numerous large-scale projects in Singapore since its first project "Pier Construction Work" for the Jurong Dock in 1964. One of the major project is reclamation work both on Jurong Island and in Tuas and approximately 10% of all land and 40% of reclaimed land in Singapore was constructed by the Company. In addition, the Company has been deeply involved numerous numbers of infrastructure projects that support the development of the country such as container terminals, railroads, sewage systems, etc. The Company has been also engaged in various building construction projects, including Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay, which was adopted as the design on the new five-cent coin.

Currently, in addition to reclamation work in the Tuas area, expansion work on Changi Airport (ground improvement work), subway tunnel projects and other infrastrueture projects are being carried out.

 

 

 

The Company made its mark on Singapore for half a century in numerous numbers of infrastructure and building projects. Penta-Ocean Construction will keep contributing to the development of Singapore through construction business in the future.
