VHS System (Slit Caisson with Transparent Flat Plate)

illustration1

VHS system is a low-crested, detached structure for waves and currents control, consisting of a front wall with vertical slits, a central wall, a back wall and a surface slab with horizontal slits. The transparent flat plate, which is positioned at surface level, minimizes the fluctuation of sea surface elevation. Ocean wave energy can be efficiently reduced owing to the low-crested structure of this system. The VHS system accommodates of a wide range of wave and tide conditions.

High performance for wave dissipation

Three vertical and horizontal slits in the system provide sufficiently wave dissipation ability.

No adverse impact on landscape

The low-crested configuration of the VHS system creates harmony with its surroundings.

Wide applicability

Pile or gravity type foundations can be selected on installation conditions, making the system highly flexible and economical.
