High Concentration Bottom Mud Dredger “SWAN-3®

photo1

SWAN-3® is a dredging vessel specifically designed for dredging high-concentration bottom mud. By applying a newly developed rotating bucket system, bottom mud can be removed under natural conditions, without the necessity of absorbing excessive amounts of water. Since the rotation speed of the bucket is synchronized with the movement of the dredger, the bottom to be dredged is not disturbed, so the amount of diffuse pollution that may occur during the course of dredging is relatively small, compared with other dredging methods. A level cut in the sediment can be maintained because the mud is removed along the plain of the blades of the bucket. Moreover, since the surface course of the mud is calmly removed, thin-layer dredging that is difficult to achieve using conventional methods, can be achieved.

Obstacle clearing equipment provided

An obstacle clearing apparatus is attached to the dredge head so that obstacles in the mud are removed before dredging.

Automatic and labor saving dredging

Dredging vessels are moved forward in the water by a spud leg, which propels the hull forward by using a winch and anchor system. Automatic control systems both for swinging the hull and relocating the spud leg have increased automation and labor saving in dredging operations. Ship position control and vessel operation monitoring systems have increased the precision and speed of dredging vessels.

Long-range transfer of dredged material

The vessel can be equipped with a long-range transfer system so that dredged material can be transferred over long distances.
