NDR (Neo-Dry Repair) Method

The NDR method is a temporary construction method for inspection and repair of underwater structures in rivers and harbors, creating a dry environment in which to carry out construction work. Traditionally, underwater structures were inspected and repaired using underwater gear, or by use of temporary cofferdams that utilized steel sheet-piles. These methods were expensive and time consuming. The NDR method makes it possible to carry out construction work in a completely dry environment efficiently and safely using temporary steel caissons.

Improving project efficiency

NDR increases the efficiency of inspection and repair work in marine environments and can be applied to a wide range of structural configurations, such as cylindrical columns, steel sheet pile walls, and pier and other footing structures. Water tightness can be sufficiently achieved by providing specially designed waterproof packing between temporary steel caissons and the structure.

Reduction of working period

Since each of the temporary steel caissons is produced off-site, working periods can be shortened substantially.

Recyclable temporary steel caissons

Cost savings can be achieved by recycling the temporary steel caissons to accommodate similar structural shapes and sizes.
