Asset Management System for Port Facilities

Since port facilities are usually built in locations subjected to severe environmental conditions, degradation in performance or quality over an in-service period due to deterioration of materials or structural damage becomes an ever-present concern. Penta-Ocean has developed an asset management system, based on the deterioration forecasting method developed by the Port and Airport Research Institute in Japan, and offers an optimized action plan for facility improvement, replacement, and maintenance.

Deterioration forecasting utilizing an easy and cost effective diagnosis

Since deterioration is forecast based on data obtained by simple inspection such as visual checking, costs for degradation diagnosis can be saved.

Overall deterioration forecasting of facilities

Deterioration of port facilities can be comprehensively forecast and evaluated by applying a probabilistic forecasting method based on Markov’s Chain Model.

Evaluation of life cycle costs and scenario testing to optimize maintenance plans

In the combination of forecasting results and appropriate corresponding repairing methods, the cost profile and value over a prescribed life cycle can be determined. By varying type and timing of repairing method as parameters, various maintenance plans can be tested and the value of proposed activities can be verified.
