SEADOM® (Underwater Rubble Leveling Robot)
SEADOM® (Underwater Rubble Leveling Robot)

One of the most crucial tasks in deep-water excavation is the levelling of rubble mounds to maintain effective breakwater facilities. Levelling operations are normally carried out manually by divers, however, for locations deeper than 20 meters, Penta-Ocean has developed an underwater rubble levelling robot, the SEADOM®. This eight-legged, self-propelled levelling machine is remotely controlled from the support vessel.
Improving safety through remote operation
A series of leveling functions, including multidirectional automatic walking (also manual operation possible) and posture control, can be remotely controlled from a vessel or on land, significantly increasing work safety.
Improving efficiency of leveling operations
SEADOM® can carry out leveling work of up to 200 m2 per day and can operate underwater at depths up to 35 meters, making it far more efficient than conventional manual operations.
Improving accuracy and quality of leveling operations
The uniquely developed execution control system including the RTK-GPS based positioning system and an echo sounder to detect the profile of the seabed enables highly accurate manipulation and high-quality control in real time.
