CONCERT HALL
So quiet, one can hear the beating of their own heart
World famous architect Russell Johnson designed the acoustics for the concert hall, which boasts a permissible noise count of PNC-5. At this level, listeners with normal hearing can differentiate between individual sounds and tones. The hall has already become known as the most quiet performing arts facility in the world.
The world-largest reverberation-adjusting room is arranged around the hall so that 84 precast chamber doors may be opened and closed to assure optimum adjustment of reverberation. Sound reflectors are mounted above the stage. By regulating their height and angle, the sounds of the performers are reflected perfectly back to both the performers and the audience.
